Salt & Silver - Restaurants

Had a great experience at the Salt & Silver Latin America restaurant! To start it off, we had some of the best pisco sours we have ever tasted. Each course was not just very delicious, but also beautifully arranged with amazing colors and textures. The fish dishes were probably my favorite, but I must say, the vegetarian dishes were out of this world as well. The service was so friendly and helpful as well which really improves the overall dining experience! Overall we had a great time here and can definitely recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Hamburg!

As a native South American I was disappointed with the menu here. I had high expectations due to the restaurant reviews, but for me it was clear on the plates the lack of passion put into the food (something that is very present in Latin American cuisine). The menu is almost all about corn and even though we use the ingredient a lot in American countries, I found it very obvious and in a “comfort zone” to have it in almost every plate. The seasoning was the most disappointing aspect for me, cause I barely felt the use of spices and was constantly looking for taste in the plates. It’s pointless to use a cricket to make an “impression” that doesn’t bring any taste to the plate as well. And on the opposite side, there was a ceviche that was so salty and acid that we could barely finish. Don’t want to end without pointing out the service also, that in any moment checked if we were satisfied with the food or if we needed something in between the courses. And we are talking about a fine dining here, so service should be also a highly attention point. All of the topics were addressed to the responsible person at the evening in the restaurant and didn’t seem to be treated with a big importance, I would say. A real shame, for the price paid, there are quite a few better restaurants in Hamburg. This is completely overrated.
